B2B: PDF price lists for customers and resellers

Context

The client needed a practical way to generate product lists from the cart before placing an order by customer. The same cart content had to be presented in PDF sheet differently for two audiences: one version for the customer with their assigned pricing conditions, and another version for his downstream resellers with standard retail pricing. The feature also had to remain available only for selected customer groups.

My role

Workflow design, business logic, back-office configuration, PDF output structure based on client proposal, implementation of customer-group-based visibility and pricing behaviour.

Solution

I implemented a one-click PDF export directly from the cart, available only for selected customer groups assigned to logged in customer. The solution included two separate PDF templates: one for the customer with group-based discounted prices shown without VAT, and one for the customer’s resellers with standard retail prices shown with VAT. The feature was configurable from back-office settings, so access could be enabled or hidden depending on customer group requirements.

Result

The client gained a faster and more practical B2B workflow before order submission. Customers could immediately generate their own working price list, without e-shop employee assistance, while also receiving a separate version suitable for forwarding to their resellers. The result was a clearer pricing process, less manual preparation, and a more useful cart experience for different business roles.
