Context
The original product website ran on TYPO3 and worked mainly as a catalogue. Data structure of old system was inconsistent and difficult to transfer directly into a cleaner e-commerce system. The client wanted to keep the familiar visual appearance, preserve as much functionality as possible, and at the same time move to a more user-friendly platform with room for future growth.
My role
Data migration planning, structure mapping, custom theme development, feature preservation, and practical expansion of the project into a more capable PrestaShop solution.
Solution
I designed a migration path from the TYPO3 database into a clearer PrestaShop structure, including sorting work around inconsistent source data. The new store received a custom theme closely matching the original TYPO3 design, while as many useful functions as possible were preserved during the transition. At the same time, I extended the project with practical PrestaShop capabilities so the former catalogue website could evolve into a more usable e-commerce platform.
Result
The client moved to a more flexible and maintainable e-shop solution with preserved visual continuity, the data became easier to work with, and the project gained a stronger foundation for future e-commerce use instead of remaining limited to catalogue-only presentation. Also SEO and url links in menu and products remains untouched.
